I thought I should list the foods that Megan is eating so far so I'd have it on record for later on...

Weekend Update

Well, it was a lovely weekend--when it wasn't completely nuts. The main focus of the weekend was on Saturday, when poor Pauley the Pug was stung by a bee, had an allergic reaction, and went into anaphylactic shock (in simpler terms, it means she went into shock because of a hypersensitivity to the sting). Luckily, I got her to the vet's in time--the vet told me that if we had gotten her there any later, she would have died. (Pauley was in such shock when I put her in the car that I was pretty sure she wouldn't make it to the vet's. Thank goodness that dog is so stubborn.) So, that was our excitement for the weekend. Luckily, Pauley is fine and back to her old self. What a relief.

Actually, let's start with earlier this week, when Megan was given her very own Raggedy Ann doll by someone I work with.

Then, Megan enjoyed playing with the Easter chicks that Larry and Laura gave her. (Pauley liked playing with them too...)
There is definite teething going on, but no teeth yet!

Who, me?

We got to have Easter/Sunday brunch with Daddy and Gram. In fact, we got to see Daddy almost all day long. What a treat! (And if you are wondering, we moved that glass of orange juice before it spilled...)

Not the Most Professional Video, But You Get the Idea

Here's another cell-phone video I took of Megan. This time, she's giving me a kiss in the mirror. Not the best quality, but you get the idea. It is much cuter in person...but then again, so is she!

A Week of Firsts

Well, the "firsts" started last Saturday, when Megan attended her first UCLA home baseball game.

Then, she wore her first pair of jeans.

Then (no photo, of course), she had her first (and hopefully last) ear surgery. She did great! She was a total trooper, until she realized she was hungry! But she was terrific--even about holding still while I put drops into her ears and made her hold still for 20 seconds on each side. We go back to the doctor on Monday for her followup appointment.

Then, she took her first ride in the baby swing at the park.
Oh, and it's not a first, but she went to Gymboree today. (But it is the first time I've ever taken a picture of her there!)

Fun Weekend! Plus, an update on the week ahead

We had a very nice weekend. Actually, it was a nice week. P.C. was home at bedtime one night this week (very rare during college baseball season), so he was a part of story time. Fun!

We also had the chance to spend FIVE HOURS IN A ROW with Daddy--again, something that is rare during baseball season--on Thursday morning, when we all went to the doctor to talk about tubes for Megan's ears. We've decided to do the surgery on Tuesday. We feel good about this decision, although we are sorry we have to do it in the first place.

(For those who haven't experienced this before, the doctor puts a teeny-tiny tube through each of Megan's eardrums to allow air into the middle ear. Hopefully this will prevent fluid from building up in her ear every time she gets a cold, which is what had been leading to all of those ear infections. It's an outpatient surgery with a light general anesthesia, but the surgery is very brief [15 minutes or so]. Wish us luck!

So, back to the weekend. Megan did the next level of Gymboree and LOVED it, so we signed up for weekly Saturday classes through May. She especially liked the parachute, singing the Gymbo the Clown song and sitting in the purple inner tube.We went to a UCLA baseball game--Megan's first home game of the season-- and we also had Sunday brunch with Gram (P.C.'s mom). We also watched Miri play soccer, and we took a couple of walks. What a full couple of days!



Oh yeah, and Megan likes green beans! Here she is, wearing the latest in strained green stuff.

And here are a couple of pictures of her having tummy time (you'll notice she's wearing blue--no gender stereotyping here!), and one of her in the stroller on the way to Gymboree. I would have taken pictures of her AT Gymboree, but to tell you the truth, I'd rather play with her than take pictures!

Giggle Girl

Hello, Smiley Girl!

As I mentioned in the last post, Megan and I went to the mall on Sunday. She was so happy while we were walking around--just looking around and really taking it all in--that I took a few pictures of her with my camera phone.



It's actually easier to take pictures with my phone than with an actual camera, because now Megan knows that the red light coming from the camera is followed by a bright flash, so she often squints as soon as she sees the red light! She's so smart...

Seven months old!

Megan turned seven months old today. We celebrated with a trip to the mall and a nice, long walk.

We also played in the ExerSaucer...

...and tried on a groovy hat!
